LOS ANGELES - Following reports of alleged corrupt and criminal behavior among Los Angeles City officials, as well as a guilty plea from a political fundraiser and an FBI indictment of former LA City Councilmember Mitch Englander, Councilmember Ryu released the following statement:

“While our City is facing a novel coronavirus, City Hall is suffering from a cancer of corruption that must be rooted out. I am outraged and appalled by what we’ve seen reported over the past few months and days. Behavior like this cannot be taken lightly - it is toxic to our democracy and a grave violation of the basic trust people put in their government. Anyone involved in these shameful schemes has no place in public service and must be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.”
