Feasibility Study for Los Feliz-Silver Lake Bridge Housing Passes Committee

Los Angeles - Councilmember Ryu’s motion to study the feasibility of bridge housing at 3061 Riverside Drive on the border of Los Feliz and Silver Lake was approved by the Homelessness & Poverty Committee today. The proposal, which now heads to City Council, would allow the City to study the feasibility of adapting existing office buildings on the privately owned lot for temporary bridge housing.

“We need to be moving faster and working together to address the crisis of homelessness,” Councilmember Ryu said. “And we need solutions wherever there are Angelenos sleeping on the street. That’s why I introduced this motion, supported it in Committee today, and I’m pleased to see it move forward.”

The 3061 Riverside Drive bridge housing would be a part of the Mayor’s “A Bridge Home” program and is the seventh homeless housing resource underway in Council District Four. Another proposed Bridge Home project is also underway at 3248 Riverside Drive in Los Feliz.
