Nicholas Greif is the Chief of Staff for Councilmember David Ryu representing Council District 4.
Nick began his career in government as an economic adviser for Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti. He led the Mayor’s successful policy campaigns to raise the minimum wage in Los Angeles and to reform the outdated gross receipts business tax. Additionally, Nick managed the growth strategies for the industry sectors of aerospace, bioscience, and healthcare.
Prior to joining the City of Los Angeles, Nick worked as a strategy consultant for Deloitte Consulting, the world’s largest consulting firm. As a consultant for Deloitte, he conducted process improvement and financial analysis projects for Fortune 500 clients in telecoms, banking, retail, and manufacturing.
Nick attended the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business, earning a Bachelor’s of Science in Economics and a minor in Political Science.
Born in Los Angeles, and growing up in Council District 4, Nick loves to travel and enjoys a good board game. He lives in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Palms with his wife Cat, and has served in his own neighborhood as President of the Palms Neighborhood Council.
