Regarding the closing of the Beachwood Drive access point to Griffith Park near the Hollyridge Trail: As a resident of the City of Los Angeles, I feel strongly that the public’s ease of access to our largest public park should be the overriding priority when considering changes to park access points. As a resident of Beachwood Canyon, the Beachwood Drive access point was my family's primary entry into the park and the restriction of access via that entry has greatly hindered our ability to enter the park. Alternate entry points add miles to our frequent trips to the park, and require us to travel via car to the park rather than walk, which we were previously able to do. This only adds to existing traffic and parking congestion. Again, this change is an unnecessary and unwanted restriction to park access for city and neighborhood residents.
