LAUREL CANYON BLVD REOPENS

Los Angeles, CA -- Councilmember Ryu announced the full reopening of Laurel Canyon Blvd on Saturday, February 11. Laurel Canyon opened at 1:30pm and will remain open thereafter.

City agencies have worked around the clock to provide safeguards to hillside neighborhoods due to unprecedented rainstorms. This has been a priority for the City and we have moved with speed and caution to ensure that we could safely reopen Laurel Canyon to both commuters and residents,” said Councilmember David Ryu.

Work began early this morning with the Bureau of Street Services removing k-rails from the center lane of Laurel Canyon Blvd to enable street surface grinding and cleaning.

Due to wet roadway conditions and anticipated light rain later today,  LADOT re-striping will be accomplished early Tuesday morning after midnight and before morning commute times.

Councilmember Ryu will be onsite today (Laurel Canyon & Kirkwood) between 1:45pm to 2:30pm for a media availability.
