Korean American Day 2017

Los Angeles, CA. - City leaders to recognize Korean American Day in City Council Chambers on January 13, 2017 at 10:00 am.

WHAT: Councilmember Ryu will be joined by Korean American leaders to declare January 13, 2017 as Korean American Day in Los Angeles. In 2003, the United States Senate and House as well as the California State Legislature passed resolutions by unanimous consent expressing support for the aspirations of Korean American Day and to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Korean immigration to the United States. Korean Americans have long been part of the fabric of Los Angeles, contributing to the City’s proud history, heritage, economic strength and rich cultural diversity.

WHO: Councilmember David Ryu and representatives from Korean American Foundation of USA and the Korean American Federation of Los Angeles.
