Jackie D’Almeida is the Legislative and Communications Aide for Councilmember David Ryu representing Council District 4.
Jackie previously worked for the Ralph and Goldy Lewis Center for Regional Policy Studies, where she worked on program analysis relating to local transportation and housing initiatives. She also worked for the nonprofit advocacy organization Human Rights Watch in the Development & Outreach and the Children’s Rights Division, where she primarily worked on state reform to the California juvenile justice system. While attending UCLA, Jackie was a Council Aide for Council President Herb Wesson’s office, and worked for the UCLA Speech and Debate Union.
She currently volunteers with the Junior League of Los Angeles, and mentors teen girls through WriteGirl. A New England native, Jackie has called Los Angeles home for over ten years. She graduated from UCLA with a B.A. in Anthropology, and earned a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the Luskin School of Public Affairs at UCLA.
