Overview

I'm honored to represent and serve many of Los Angeles' historic and beautiful hillside neighborhoods. Our hillsides face unique challenges - from infrastructure, to construction, to public safety and emergency preparedness. But they also feature what makes Los Angeles' such a unique and wonderful place to live - wildlife corridors, unique flora and fauna, and neighbors who are committed to making their communities the best they can be. Public Safety

Hillside communities face many safety concerns, from tour buses barreling down too-narrow streets, to brush fires and evacuation plans. I've championed legislation to regulate unsafe tour bus routes, elevate the brush clearance standards, shut down unsafe party houses, and worked with our emergency first responders on making every hillside community prepared for an emergency.

Development

Many residents have expressed their concerns over "mansionization" of single story traditional homes. These huge homes provide no additional housing to the City of Los Angeles, and they undermine the character and landscapes of our communities. I've pushed for regulations to limit these oversized developments.

Hillside Infrastructure

Improving public infrastructure is critical to ensuring safety of our neighborhoods. I've been committed to addressing the unique infrastructure challenges in our hillsides with increased funding to our broken streets, and attention to reducing cut-thru traffic.

Environment

Our hillsides feature some of Los Angeles' greatest wildlife - and most critical wildlife corridors. I am committed to protecting our native plants and animals, growing our urban canopy, and preserving LA's wild.
