“We need more federal stimulus dollars for Los Angeles and all cities across this country. I agree with the Mayor that support should not just go to the City government - but to Angelenos who need rent and mortgage relief and direct aid to their small businesses. We have some tough budget decisions ahead, but we can’t balance our budget on the backs of working people. Without federal help, the City's need for furloughs will cause an unintended ripple effect across our economy, as well as reduce City services when our seniors and vulnerable residents need them most. The City’s workforce has been on the frontlines of this crisis, and Washington must make it a priority to support these workers. All of us - at every level of government - must work to keep the temporary impacts of this pandemic from making our existing crises of inequality and homelessness even worse.”
