Councilmember Ryu Extends Pool Season in Neighborhood Parks

Los Angeles -- The pools at Pan Pacific Park and Griffith Park will remain open for an additional month, Councilmember Ryu announced today.

“Serving the neighborhoods of Council District Four means serving our incredible neighborhood parks, and the individuals and families who enjoy them,” Councilmember Ryu said. “I believe in the power of parks, and by keeping our pools open, we are providing more recreation and more low-cost resources to countless kids and families to enjoy.”

The pools, previously scheduled to close after Labor Day Weekend, will remain open on weekends through September 29, 2019. The extension was funded through $59,131 of Council District Four discretionary funds.

The funding will be transferred to the Department of Recreation and Parks to effectuate the extended pool season. This is the fifth summer Councilmember Ryu has extended the pool season at Council District Four parks. For more information about pool hours, visit laparks.org.
