Ryu Advocates for CA Bill to Address API Health Disparities
Councilmember David E. Ryu is pleased to support Assembly Bill 1726. Los Angeles is home to one of the largest and most vibrant populations of AANHPIs. However, these diverse communities pose different social, educational, and economic needs that must be addressed uniquely. It is critical for decision-makers to have more information about the communities they serve, particularly with underrepresented NHPI groups, in order to make more informed decisions for the well-being, health, and education for all in our communities. As a health care advocate, Chair of the City Council’s Health, Mental Health, and Education Committee, and the first Korean American elected in the City of Los Angeles, I believe that AB 1726 is a critical step in ensuring that all in our communities are counted for.
